Stratified rock walls rise dramatically from the river.

The Lower Animas has a mixture of rapids and open, flowing sections making it great for those looking for some excitement and some socializing all along great scenery.

This Mottled Sculpin lives over the gravel and rocks on the edge of the river.

The group included locals as well as tourists from Germany.

The Lower Animas River is an open landscape with beautiful scenery.

The water level on this day was a low 350csf exposing the boulders and offering opportunities for weaving between them.

The Lower Animas section of the river is the most rafted due to it’s accessibility and beginner friendly rapids.
